Wardrobe Inspiration | The Floppy Hat

Happy Boxing day!

Whether you’re feeling like a little extra accessorising, or you’re just having a bad hair day, hats are a great way to stay looking nice. As a bonus, they protect you from the Sun, which is especially important during summer. Don’t feel like you need to buy multiple hats just for variety, because there are easy ways to spice up your headwear!

Ribbons – Simply tie a piece of ribbon around your floppy. This can enhance the colour palette of your outfit!

No ribbons? Use scarves! – I’m not talking thick winter scarves! If you have a thin material scarf or piece of printed fabric wrap it around your hat to make it more interesting than a plain colour.

Experimental: jewellery – This option may not be the most practical, but if you want to embellish your hat with some sparkle, you can select some earrings and arrange them around your hat, piercing the studs through the material of the hat (this would probably be best with material with holes already, like straw or paper hats), or put an elasticated necklace over the crown of the hat!

Wardrobe Inspiration | Christmas in Summer

During Christmas, Dressing up helps us get into the holiday spirit. Unfortunately, in Australia it’s summer, so getting decked out in Christmas sweaters is not going to be very comfortable at all, so choosing festive outfit might take a little more thought than picking up a sweater with “Merry Christmas” printed on it.

Here are some fashion tips and outfit ideas if your Christmas is during the warmer months!

1. Red Playsuit | 2. White Floppy Hat | 3. Sandals

This outfit is great for a day at the beach or a barbeque with family and friends on Christmas Day. Pairing red and white together is your typical colour combo for Christmas, and taking into account that it gets very hot mid-December (in Australia) wearing light-weight materials, and the colour white (which reflects heat) will help you to stay cool. If you want to add jewelry, a statement necklace would go perfect with this outfit.

If your Christmas celebration is in the evening wearing something simple and elegant like a black (or in this case, navy) dress can be embellished with accessories. Compliment the silver detailing on the dress with some statement jewelry. I really like this bracelet cuff because it has both silver and navy blue stones, the same colours as the dress. Finish off the look with some rings and a sparkly clutch!
