Versatility | 1 Dress 3 Ways

It’s been awhile, but I thought being a low budget student and all, I should share more tips on versatility – this time with a dress. While a solid colour dress is a no-brainer, the fact that it’s plain and simple makes it the perfect piece as the basis of any style. From completely casual to a dressier event, I’ve put together 3 different outfits using one dress. I bought this dress a long time ago from TEMT

1. Plain and Put Together

In this look I’ve worn the dress as is, using accessories to make the dress stand out more. I’ve worn a black clutch and statement necklace (both borrowed!) to match my black heels. I like this dress because instead of your classic little black dress it has more colour interest, meaning I can accessorise with black without looking too dark and serious.

2. Layer it Up

If you’re not on the mood for a dress, go ahead and layer a shirt on top! I feel this look is quite modest and girly, with the long sleeves and delicate material. I love the baroque print of this cropped top! To finish off the look I went with a complimentary colour to the dress – a light jewel toned green (Once again, I borrowed the shoes!).

3. In a Rush

This pairing is the most casual look, and perfect for those days where you need an easy outfit but still look nice. It’s by far my favourite look of the 3. Probably because of my beloved converse. When I wear plain dresses I very often pair them with a button down because they can be used for both decoration and practicality. You can either tie it around your waist, or wear it to fend off the wind.
